how to work with EDI?

Hi,

can you tell me how to work with edi in realtime.

Send me some realtime scenerios having edi.

Is we need to do some programming in the Edi.

Pls tell the total process for doing edi in real time.

Hi,

EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) which will be used to transfer data from one system to other system.Here in EDI usually outbound system can be SAP or Non-SAP system.

ALE is SAP owned technology.So in that case outbound system will be always SAP.

WEDI is tcode to do all related stuff to do in EDI.

We will transfer data through IDocs. We need programming to populate data in IDocs. But before that there will be EDI settings to be made in the system. That includes creating RFC destinations, creating logical systems, assigning client to logical system,creating port, creating partner profile etc.There are many docs available in sdn and all other sites.You can search for step by step too.
