Extending Customer Master

HI SAP Gurus,

Can we extend the same customer for different regions...........?

Like i have a customer number for respective sales area i would like to extent the same customer under same sales area Region wise ie., NORTH/SOUTH/EAST and WEST............ is it possible ? if possible guide me .......... if not suggest me how best i can map it..

Hi

You can extend customers either to a different Company Code or to a different Sales Area. You cannot extend them to a different region.

If your customer has physical presence in that region, create them as a separate SH for different regions.

Jay,

The Customer Master Record is created for a particular Sales Area and for a defined Region. As per standard SAP, if you want to extend the sames customer to other regions, it is not possible. But it is possible with using Z-field for this region.

This would involve more bespoke.

Else, create another customer (SH,BP or PY) with the same Sales Area, as per requirement and assign them in your Sold to party customer Partner functions.

So these new (e.g) Ship to customers will be avaliable in diffeternt regions.

Jay U please create diffent ship to party for different regionn code and assign the same to P'er function of the Sold to party and at the time of so creation please select ship to party accordingly.

Don' change the sale area.

a customer will be maintained diiffrent sales area in a company code.

but sales area is same region is different based on region wise customer could not extended.

If you would like to generate report based on sales office, make the field as mandatory in VA01.
