Do any of you have any information around "Migrating from Oracle DB to SQL Server DB", how/what are the impacts to business objects environments that report off the Oracle data warehouse and Oracle BO repository db.

Thanks!

What sort of migration information do you seek ?
If your BOE was built to report of the Oracle DB - it will not be able to do the same from SQL Server without changing or sometimes re-designing all your universes/connections.

Our universes (UNV and UNX) point to Oracle data marts. Trying to find more info, if these data marts migrate to SQL server what steps we need to take to migrate these universes to SQL server and the impacts. Also our repository is on Oracle, what are the steps we need to take if we are required to move the repository to SQL server. Trying to see if there is any sort of documentation or anyone has gone thru this type of effort.

Thanks!

well, the sql between oracle and SQL server is different. so for each universe you'll have to change where connection is pointing and verify that each object in universe still works , joins etc, custom sql etc...

As for the CMS DB repo - you can simply use cms db copy functionality and make it easy. Details in Admin guide.
