BO upgrade without Semantic layer upgrade

Hi All,

Is it possible to upgrade only Reporting Layer to BO 4.2 without converting Semantic layer from old Universe design (UNV) to UNX.

What are the complications involved in this scenario.

Please share your inputs

Thanks

Geetha

  • Please clarify your question - what it is that you're trying to achieve. What version of the product are you upgrading from ?

Also, please research before posting - the questions about UNV to UNX conversions has been asked before and documented in guides and KBA's.

What is your base BO version?

If you don't want to convert UNV to UNX then still you can use UNV universes in BI 4.2/4.1/4.0. UNV universe are supported in all versions.

    Geeta,

Depends on what BI tools you are going deploy. UNV are fully supported by WebI and LiveOffice. If you plan use Lumira &/or Design Studio then you would need to upgrade your UNV to UNX. As mentioned by Amit UNV are fully supported all versions BI 4.x

    Thank you Amit and Ajay.

In this scenario, any updates to UNV - Universe objects must be done through UDT right.
