S/4HANA Cloud Edition and S/4HANA On-premise Edition transaction volume limitations

We are currently at a client evaluating the use of S/4HANA Cloud Edition and S/4HANA On-premise Edition for the company's operations. The Scope included Finance and Invoicing (Billing) primarily. One of the question is related to any transaction volume and performance limitations that exists. What is the maximum transaction volume (in terms of annual financial transactions) and performance (in terms of number of documents generated per hour) does each of the edition have? Appreciate any help in this topic.

Hi Ricky,

There is no limitation on number of transaction per year in any of the system, be it S/4 HANA Cloud (Private or Public), S/4 HANA On-Premise or any other. SAP can not go in this sales model where there could be cap on number of transactions. SAP is forcing S/4 HANA cloud to large organization also. Secondly speed and agility (Performance) anyways not an issues in any S/4 HANA Products. So be relaxed from number of transactions and performance in S/4 HANA.

Rather you need to focus while comparison on below things:

1. Whether all the business process will be covered by S/4 HANA Public Cloud? There is no challenge in S/4 HANA Private Cloud and S/4 HANA On-Premise edition from business process coverage.

2. Costing. See the price list for the option, which one allows your pocket?

3. What kind of ERP currently you are using?

4. Number of users who gonna work in SAP?
