Dear All,

Is the following client Export & Import option possible?

Source:

SAP application: ECC 5.0

DB: Oracle 9i Non Unicode

Source client has many ABAP customization exists.

Target:

SAP application: ECC 6.0

DB: Oracle 10g Unicode

Target client is a newly created (fresh) client.

The OS platform is same for both (HP UX).

Please advise.

Thanks & Regards

Hello Sudip,

Client copy is tool which is used to copy data from one system to the other. The important pre-requisite to perform client copy is that source and target should be

at the same release, SP level too..

If client copy is performed between two different levels, there will be some errors or

inconsistencies as the two systems are at different release level.

If you still want to continue with the client copy, there are several speacial options which you can set and perform client copy. When such a client copy is performed,

we do not guaranty for successfull copy for this. There will be some inconsistencies

which we cannot support.

For this case, you need to perform client export and import, followed by client copy post processing. Please see the note 446485

Hi,

You can only copy clients between systems with the same development level. Among other things, the release and the Hot Package status must correspond to each other in order to avoid conflicts in the Dictionary area (meta data consistency)

Check Note 70547 - CC-TOPIC: Client transport
