how can we make fields apperaing while creation of cost center in KS01, as optional entires, like business area is apperaing as required entry how to make it optional.
If you set the financial reports to be available by business area and assigned a company code to a business area (OB65), you will have to link your cost centres to business area and therefore making this field mandatory on KS01.
You can control these using Selection Variant or List Variant, depeding on what you need:
IMG --> ... Cost Centre Accounting --> Master Data --> Cost Centres --> Define Selection Variants for Cost Centres or Define List Variants for Group Processing.
Explore this. You can't make these optional / invisible at entry, but can control what fields are displayed.
