Mass change of master data

I just want to delete a particular quality inspection type for no. of materials in quality view of material master.

In QA08 - we can able to only activate and deactivate inspection type for materials and not possible to delete inpection types from material master.

Thanks to all for your suggestions.

But none of the one helped to delete the unwanted inspection type in the inspection setup of quality view.

So at last i have displayed QMAT in se11, and click on contents.

then enter all the inspection type accept the required one and the material for which the data required and execute.

So, it displayed me all the material which were having the inspection types pther than required.

Inspection types are maintained in the SAP table QMAT with Material#, Plant, Inspection type combination. To have mass maintanance of Inspection types within Material master, you have write an Z-ABAP program.

I have not seen any option to delete records with a Mass transaction. Mass transactions allow creation and change.

The inspection type is not a field value like in field MRP controller. It is more like a text in a certain language (like it is stored in table MAKT)

You cannot delete such a text with MM17, so it is not possible to delete an inspection type fwith MM17 or QA08.

If it is the only field you want to change you can use transaction MM17.

Do you mean that you want to remove the Inspection type in the material master. If yes then please use t code MASS and change it. I am sorry I dont have SAP right now and will not be able to give you more details
