how to fill a matrix with DataTable

I have added the the datatable by the foll' code

odt=oform.datasources.datatables.add("Test")

It raises a nullreferenceexception with the message

"Object reference not set to an instance of an object."

what may be the problem?

can anybody help me to resolve this problem?
