Warranty Master Data

Dear All

I want to configure warranty master for a finished product.This finished product is classified into three parts according to batch characterstics.Is it possible to apply these charaterstics which are CHAR. base in warranty master?

My next question is when we display warranty check on service notification, how characterstics for the warranty can be displayed on Warranty check screen?

Dear All

I have gone through the Warranty Master Help documentation.

I am not using functional location , equipnment. I am assiging warranty on serial numbers only.

I am getting the validity period my material on the Service notification with the name of master warranty,what i need is to display the classification of my material to the Warranty check (Lower level warranty counters.How can i assign these classifcations to my master data and display the indivial validity with name on the warranty check ?

Hi,

Not sure exactly what you want to achieve but you can classify the master warranties. This is more for an organisation purpose rather than enabling warranty validity based on classification values. This classification at warranty header level does not make the warranty valid or invalid. See some more information under following help.sap.com link:

To control validity of a warranty, the warranty must have a time or counter measurement defined.

you can create the master warranty using BGM1 T code ,in that you can specify the service and the warranty counter (either performance based or time based),this counter should be defined in IMG settings before

while creating the service notification for the equipment having warranty then it will be displayed provided if you have marked the included indicator while defining the master warranty
