Question regarding Generic Data extractor

Hello Experts

I have mentioned this before but since I closed that thread, I had to open a new one

The requirement I am working on is to replicate a SAP R/3 query (which combines data from the EKKO and the EKPO table) into BI and then output this data from BI to a flat file. So, I decided to replicate the SAP query by extracting those fields using the standard purchasing extractors 2lis_02_itm and 2lis_02_hdr and then build a ODS on top of this extractors and output the data from this ODS using Open hub

Now, I decided to use another approach by building a Infoset for that SAP Query and then creating a generic data source on top of this Infoset. Then, I will use this generic datasource to feed my ODS in BI. I wanted to know the pros and cons of the two approaches. Furthermore, if I decide to use the generic datasource approach, what will be needed to add any new tables to the infoset in future.

Thanks

Rishi

HI...

If u are looking at Generic Data source then u really need to think about how to capture the Delta???? If ur tables are with the Time stamp then its easy for u to do that.. if its not containing then it will be tough to capture the delta which is based on Change on or created on.. if use any one then u will face issues with the newly generated orders...

So I better suggest the first option if u have all the required fields in it..

thanks

Vishnu
