unable to uncheck the restrictable check box incharacteristics.

Hi,

Gurus

I have a qurrey on varient configuration.

we are using varient configuration.In cu50 i.e. configuration:char value assignment,we have to pick the characteristics value and with those values we ll check the result i.e. with this any BOM is available or not.

But above scenario is working fine except one material,In that particular KMAT material when we use CU50,

and if we try to pick the char.value by taking drop down,system ll not show any value.

When i checked I found that in charactristics i.e. in ct04 the Restrictable checkbox is there,which is checked.

But now I have to uncheck the restrictable checkbox but it is not allowing i.e.disable(gray).

Can anybody throw some light on how to uncheck the restrictable checkbox.

1)as you suggest,i want to know any mass change is available for locking the dependancies.

2)what r the probable wrong things in object dependancies becos of above prblem is coming.

Pls reply for this ,its very urgent.

I do aggree with Jagadish. Adding a new Characteristic Value to a Restrictable Characteristic will not make the Value "Hide". Check your Object Dependencies at the Characteristic Value Level first. I would also check for any Constraints at the Config Profile which use a Variant Table for that Characteristic, as it is common to use Constraints to limit a Characteristic to Valid Characteristic Combinations.

Hi Vilas Pendhare..,

There are few points which i would like to answer..,

1. you said for system II, you could not able to find the values in drop down. and thinking that becuase it is restrictable.

your restrictable check box is nothing to do with disappearance of your char values. (as you know a restrictable char can be used in writing constrains) reason for it is some dependencies are not allowing to appear it. please do through OD's one by one.

2. to lock the OD's go to T.Code CU02 change the status to "3".

at Scope of Where used list check "classes".

INOB - Link between Internal Number and Object

KLAH -Class header data

KSSK - Allocation Table: Object (vb.matnr) to Class

KSML - Characteristics for a class (internal number)

All these are required for your requirement.

thanks for u r reply,

but can u tell me how remove the characteristics from classes because that characteristics is used in many materials.any mass transactions is available.

and will there be any effect on the materials where we r using that charactristics.

Hi Vilas Pendhare..,

A lot of significance is there to put a characteristic as restrictable. Don't find the solution to remove the restricable check mark in CT04.

I will give you two suggestions to tackle this problem.

1. Use T.Code CT12 and give the Characteristic and find where this characteristics is used. Lock all the dependencies. then in CT04 uncheck the restrictable. (But it is not advisable).

2. Write the Dependency to solve your problem. if not give me the senario i can help you.

Remove the Characteristic from all the Classes that it is used in. Once a Characteristic is allocated to a Class, you will not be able to change the Restrictable Check Box.
