You need to ellaborate on the amount of functionality you are looking for.

Simply adding a BarCode Reader does not require a AddOn. What are you tryin to do?

CitiXsys has a couple of AddOn's

In a stores, Can the bar code scanner be used to update the row lines in a transaction document with all relevant details.

For example:- while making a sales order in SAP B1 the form is opened and then the item(the barecode sticker) is scanned with the barcode scanner. will the item no,Item descrption, quantity and the price be automatically filled in the row of the SO/or any other transaction docs.

If yes then hoe is the set up or interation of SAP B1 and the barcode done?

How is the Barcode number generated- From sap or Barcode software?

Shud I use the Item No. as the barcode no?

This was my post yesterday.....

And I got suggestion to use a barcode addon for this as a solution!!

Do u have any other solution for this

This is what has to be understood about BarCode scanner. They are merely a tool which recoganizes Bar Codes and replaces key strokes.

If the practical use is to just scan item codes / item's bar code then you do not need any AddOn.

Simply buy a compatable BarCode scanner with a USB port. Popular ones are Symbol scanners.

When you scan any data in BarCode form, this data is populated on the screen.

If you are scanning barcode for ItemCode A00001, then A00001 appear in the ItemCode field, the other data like ItemName, qty and price are populated by SAP automatically

This is not a BarCode function

But suda pls tell me what shouuld the barcode consist of. I mean when the barcode is generated then is it mandatory that the barcode number should comprise of the Item Number to get automatically populated in the transaction document rows?

Hi Suda,

From my experience, some barcode actually not only key strokes the item number, but at the end it add another deathly key stroke: "Enter". Which is, add data in B1.

Then we should develop a simple add on to remove the "enter".
