Exception Handling in SAP CPI

Hi SDNites,

I have implemented exception handling in Cloud platform integration but have below queries,

1. With exception handling in place, iFlow always go in success status. So how best will it to inform. In my case I have used script to log the error but I believe email should be the best option here. Please advise. Any other suggestions are also welcome.

2. In case we are sending an email, what is the best way to point out that certain iFlow instance has failed. I believe it should be date and time. If yes, can you advise how can I get those details. Also any other suggestions would be of help.

  • Hi,

    Let me first clear out some things; in your exception subprocess you can modify the end event type as well, it does not need to be a successful end.

    You have some options here to fulfil your business requirements - send out a alert e-mail:

    1. Connect your CPI tenant to SAP Solution Manager, and enable alerting - this will only work when your status is not successful (SAP Basis team can help you out here)
    2. In case you want to go for an e-mail, you can point out the Header field "SAP_MessageProcessingLogID" which will hold the MessageID from your tenant.
