Client protection regarding non-productive client

Hy Guys,

Previous years I started to gain deeper knowledge regarding SAP security and I came across with the following question: What if the client protection is not set properly on a non-productive client? Like a company using Client 100 and its closed and not modifable as it should be, but Client 10 which is not in use is open and modifable

Is there any risk in it?

You have two layers of client protection:

    - Client-specific objects - all the customizing that is client dependent

    - Cross-client object - all the client independent customizing and workbench (programs, tables etc).

If your client 10 is open for cross-client modification, that means you can for example change reports and tables. But you won't be able to access the client 100 application data or customizing.
