Users not appearing in the SRM MDM UI

Hi All,

As per my requirement i have created a duplicate role and assigned the mask and user1 to this dupicate role.

After assigning a user1 to this duplicate role in the SRM MDM UI am unable to see the user1 in the dropdwon of user field.

I have checked the same by assigning this user1 to the standard role i.e., from where i have created the duplicate role then its displaying in the UI.

Can anyone tell me why the users are not getting displayed in the UI?

Is duplicate role will not work as a standard role?

Do i need to any settings in SRM or MDM?

Please advice me..

Hi Sireesha,

Firstly, if you have User1 and you have assigned Mask to this User1 and u want to see Records in SRM-MDM Search UI as per User1.i mean on EBP link.

Go to SRM System-> Transaction SPRO->Click on Sap Reference IMG->Navigate Supplier Relationship Management-->Srm Server ->Master Data->Define External Web Services--> Click on your Web Service ID for SRM -MDM Catalog 2.0 --->Integrated Call Structure here on Opening this fill Username= User1and mask="mask name which you have created".

As per my knowledge only users assigned to role Catalog User will be visible in SRM MDM Config UI. Also if u want to see other users as well u can create more users for this role.

For more than 1 users u can define more than one External webservices in SRM System if u want to assign more than one user to EBP.I mean in Search UI.

In Search UI u can create and maintain more than one user in Add To Shopping List where user can see the Shopping list of products everytime which they have stored and reuse it evertime they visited in Search UI, so that they dont get waste their time in adding the items to Add to Shopping Cart, just using this Add To Shopping List they can directly order for all the products which they have added in their shopping list. In Add To Shopping List it displays the Users list with all the items which they had added in their shopping Cart.

Thank you for rour reply.

I have checked by assigning a mask to the standard role Catalog user where user1 is also assigned to this role.

And i checked in the SRM UI user1 is displaying in the list though mask is assigned.

But if the same user and same mask is assigned to the duplicate role of catalog user its not displaying in the SRM UI.

Here my doubt is on what basis users are getting displayed in the UI?

Is it based on the masks or roles?

If it's based on the roles will the users assigned under the duplicate not be displayed in UI? If Not what should i do to make the users available in UI?

Please advice me...

Hi Sireesha,

You can define users say User1, User2, User3 etc for Role Catalog User only, then in config UI, After login in with Username Master, u can do customize setting for all the users say for example for User1 you can assign some fields here which become visible in EBP for user1 but for user2 if you have done some other customize settings in Config UI and u want to see this user2 on EBP that is on Search UI either u have to change username User1 to User2 in Srm system under Define External Web Services or you can create more than one External web services for other users as well if u want to login with user1 and user 2 simultaneously. so users get displayed in Search UI that is on EBP on the basis of username which u have defined in SRM System under Define External Web Services.

Apart from this as i said, In Search UI u can create and maintain more than one user for Example Sireesshaa and Mandeep are two users and we want to maintain our Item List indiviually for user1 in Add To Shopping List then corresponding to ur selected items in Add To Shopping List a mask get created in MDM Data Manager, u can see this in Data Manager by selecting Hierarachy Mode and then select current table as Masks table here u will find hierarachy like this

SRMMDMCAT_SL_USERROOT_PREFIX_User1

|----> Sireessha

|-----> Mandeep

when u click over here on Sireessha u will see list of Selected Items which have done in Search UI under Add To Shopping List So automatically diferent masks get assigned for all the users list which u maintained for Add To Shopping List.

Thank you very much for your clear explanation.

In your reply all you were talking about is when you assign a user1 to the standard role catalaog user.

But my doubt is on duplicate role of catalog user. Why the users assigned to this duplcate role are not appearing in the

UI.

Hi Sireesha,

As SAP has provided standard SRM MDM UI sca files, i think they have done some conditional settings may be by make use of MDM Java APIs between MDM and UI using which they have assigned only Role Catalog User so that only users to this role is Visible only in SRM MDM UI, and thats why on creating any other role and assigned users to this role is not accepting.

In standard Repository they have defined Users 1 to 5 for Role Catalog User which is available in config UI, Even when i create a new user say User6 is visible in config UI only, when i assigned this user User6 to Role Catalog User.

So , i conclude that only Role Catalog User is defined in SRM MDM UI and users assigned to only this role is visible.
