Low performan in Routine

Hi expert,

I'm working in SAP BW, I have created the folowing rountine in update rules.

SELECT * FROM /bic/azobadr0100

WHERE BA_1FTRAN = COMM_STRUCTURE-BA_1FTRAN

AND CALDAY = COMM_STRUCTURE-CALDAY.

  • result value of the routine

RESULT = /BIC/AZOBADR0100-BA_1EAD.

ENDSELECT.

This routine select information of two tables.

The problem is: When I load the objets, it took me ten hours to finish it.

How can I improve it?"

Thanks.

    Hello,

To increase the perfomance I suggest you to create two internal tables and use the commands SELECT ... INTO TABLE, check if the table is initial and SELECT ... INTO TABLE ... FOR ALL ENTRIES.

And I suggest you to use only the fields that are referred in the program in the selects (for example SELECT CONNID FROM SFLIGHT) instead of using the * in the select.

And use field-symbols in loops instead of work areas.

    Regards,

Instead of select * from .. endselect ..

write select * from ... into table ...

    for all entries in COMM_STRUCTURE

    where ...

    Hi,

In your select statement ,if you write the names of the fields required instead of * it will reduce most of the time required.

And also if you use into some internal table statement also instead of select & endselect , it helps a lot in system performance.

You can also use for all entries as per your requirement.

    Reward if useful.

    Thanks & Regards,

    Khan.
