How to add column in standard BO OWL

Hi Gurus,

I need to add new column in standard BO owl for phone call activity.

Actually I need to put City column (please see screenshot)

Do you have an idea how to do that. This is very similar like phone column (from same standard BO date has to be retrieved)

Hi,

To add a new field into Phone Call Activity OWL, Just create a extension field into "Activity" BO and then extend the field to "/BYD_COD/SalesOnDemand/Activities/PhoneCall/UI/COD_PhoneCall.OWL.uicomponent" using UI Designer.

Thanks, I know this approach.

But City is not new extension filed, it is City from Standard account BO, just like phone from screenshot above.

Hi,

Sorry for my ignorance in earlier response!

As "City" is not released as part of PSM , Hence currently there is no way to bring it to standard OWL screen.

1 workaround could be via extension field in Activity BO which will be holding the same value as Account "City" (write in Event-BeforeSave ABSL code). This newly created field could then be added to OWL screen of Phone Activity.

Hi,

What is needed that City become a part of PSM?

As I mentioned I know about this workaround but this is quick and dirty :-) Eg.

  1. There will be duplicated data entry in Database (one in Account BO, second in Phone call activity BO)
  2. Since this event will be triggered Before Save there are couple of other challenges:(update of all already created phone calls with City attribute, update City attribute in phone call activity BO each time city is changed or updated on account level)
  3. Performance issue during mass creating phone calls activities with campaign

To enable it as part of Standard OWL, you can suggest it on Customer Influence site.
