HI Gurus,

We are manufacturing LCD TV & having REM.

We are created BOM for LCD TV includes assy LCD PANEL MATRIX.This assy LCD PANEL MATRIX is made up of LCD Panel & several other items.

This LCD Panel is procured from different vendors e.g.LG ,SAMSUNG,SHARP etc.. with different code.

Now ASSY LCD PANEL MATRIX BOM is made with one of the panel code.

Finally LCD TV BOM is made with this ASSY LCD PANEL MATRIX & several other items.

Now my problem is how to include other vendor Panel in BOM.(I do not want to use alt.BOM).

I think varient configuration is best for your scenario. Explore the VC for the possibilities.

You can enter the vendor as a characterstics and select the LCD according to that in VC.

Hi,

Can we use revision level & change no. to include the other lcd panel with single BOM for assy lcd panel matrix & maintaining this assy code in main BOM.

Hi,

Theoritically Yes.

With reference to the Revision Level, the BOM will be exploded as per the Valid From date of the Revision Level which you can see in the Material Master, during Confiramation.

But Practically I doubt the success of the idea in the long run..

Hi,

If you have a predefined Usage probability , you can go for Alternative BOM Items , by defining the LCD panels fron various vendors as alternative items

Alternative Item is an item used as an alternative to one or more BOM items.MRP plans alternative material components according to usage probability.

Alternative items are selected automatically according to:

Priority

Strategy

Usage probability
