Design studio Dashboard with multiple BW datasources

HI All,

We are using SAP Design studio 1.6 for creating Dashboards.

Will there be any issues, if we create a dashboard which pulls data from two different BW systems .in comparison with a dashboard created using a single BW System?

What are the advantages and disadvantages of using data sources from Multiple BW systems. ( PIT, ZIT, etc etc)

Please provide your ideas.

Thanks

Swapna

You need to be sure that the performance of you BW systems are fine. You can enhance the performance in DS, but if it takes 1min to load a query from BW system it doesn't do any good. Other than that, you won't have problems with connecting more than one BW systems. If you are filtering data from one system to the other one, you need to have the data in the same format.

I am not sure I see a difference as it depends on volume and sizing of the BW system, and how much you are using the BEx query

By the way, Lumira 2.1 Designer offers more features in freeing up resources - see https://blogs.sap.com/2018/01/11/is-sap-lumira-2.1-ready-for-prime-time-webcast-recap/

HI Tammy,

My dashboard will be using two BW systems BW1 and BW2

from BW1 i will be using 14 queries. from BW2 i will be using 1 query.

Will it create any problems?

Swapna,

Further to Tammy’s comments, I suggest you simply test your scenario directly and then post back with questions if you encounter specific issues.

Regards,

Mustafa.
