Batch Determination issue -reg

hi friends,

while doing order confirmation at header level , when i went to goods movement , inside that i have selected the material to be issued to production which should undergo 261 movement which is batch managed -

and clicked on

batch determination button -

---

it is showing the error

"no search strategy could be found "

No search strategy could be found

Message no. LB014

but in SPRO i have maintained all the relevant settings

where exactly i have missed the settings and what and all i have to check if some one can help it would be appreciated

the requirement is urgent please

Hi,

With referance to the same situation, I have a different problem.

We did OMCG for 261 mvt type & Serach strategy ME001; COB3 for Order Type PP01 and plant X ;and MBC3 for Plant X & Mvt type 261

I have defined Automatic Batch determination for plant X, and it is working fine.But while doing MFBF or Production Confirmation (CO15) for other plants I am getting the warning message-LB014 Batch search strategy not found.

Any suggestions on how to limit the Batch determination functionality at plant level X only.

If you want to do the batch determination in the production order you have to create the search strategy in COB1. If you want to do the batch determination during confirmation then you have to create search strategy in MBC1. If in SPRO you have done the setting in COB1 then it will be useful only if you are doing batch determination in the production order . If you have to do batch determination during confirmation then you have to create strategy in MBC1.

Hy Madhu,

If You determine the Batch No, at the time of Goods issue(not in Production order or process order component screen) , in that case you have to create another Batch determaitnion strategy through MBC1 which is for Inventory purpose. In this srategy u can create Batch determiantion strategy with combination of Plant, Material type and Movement type.

I hope u have assiged Batch search procedure for Order Type at OPL8

Create Batch Search Strategy for OrdType/Plnt/Matl Combination at COB1.

Now u can excute the Batch determination at Component Overview of Production Order itself.

i have used PP01 order type

in OPL8 - in the search procedure under batch determination i have got the option of

CO0001 Standard CO Search Procedure

i have selected it

further as you advised i went to COB1 , selected strategy CO01 and went inside assigning plant , order type and material -

here i have to assign child component or assembly for which i create order ?

further in IMG-SPRO --under batch search procedure

defien inventory management search procedure, allocate IM search procedure and check etc........are there

we have to do settings under inventory management field or production order field ?

i understand batch determination is only with respect to the parts for which goods issue happen , is it correct ?

after all i am not able to do batch determination in order confirmation

when i try for the same in order through BOM field tab it is

asking

"Batch determination for BMTEST without selection

data "

when i click continue it is going to the same screen which comes while batch determination through order confirmataion

it is showing the error

"strategy contains no selection specifications "

when you go to COB1 select the strategy CO01 , then select key combination . select whichever key combination you are selecting , better select order type & plant combination so that it is valid for all the components of the order. If you dont want this then select order type , plant & component combination

In the next screen put your plant ,order type Validity dates, etc and double click on that line

In that screen you can see no. of batch split . You can put in the no. If you dont know put in 999

tick mark dialog batch determination

If you have any selection criteria , click on the selection criteria & put in the selection criteria for the components.

If you have defined a sort rule the click on sort & put in the sort rule

If you have no selection criteria then in the field "SelType batch det." put O

Also tick mark changes allowed if you want to change the determined quantity in the order.

Hi,

If u want to execute Batch determination for production Order (Component Over view), Define Batch search strategy at COB1 as our Expert suggested.

To execute batch determination during the Confirmation , Create Batch search strategy for MovType/Plnt/MatlNo. at MBC1.

Create search procedure for Component.

And also assign the IM search procedure and activate Batch check box at "Allocate IM search procedure /activate check "

Now try at Batch determination at confirmation.

as i decided to do batch determination during confirmation , as adviced by you , i

went to MBC1 -

used strategy type ME01used key combination "movement type /plant/material"given inside movement type 261 , materail "child part of header "(raw material ) and in no.of splits 999.--saved

then went to batch search procedure definition -selected ME0001inside the control data given condition type ME01

then went to allocate IM procedure and activate check

against the movement typw 261 --given search procedure ME0001 and put tick mark in the check box "check batch "

now tried for batch determination during confirmation

it has thrown the error

"STRATEGY CONTAINS NO SELECTION SPECIFICATIONS"

Message no. LB007

if i see the log it is displaying the third one in red ,remaining in blue

1.Batch stocks are being read...

2.Search according to selection criteria...

3.Strategy contains no selection specifications

4.Availability of batches...

5. Batches are being sorted...

am i missing any thing ? any area i missed in class and characteristics ? that i ahve defined and the class is attached to material through CL20N

please guide me to break this issue

Hy Madhu,

I think you have miss the applying Sort rule in the strategy.Pls apply it.

For creating Sort rule pls go to CO70 give appropriate name to it and assign Characterstic as per your selection creteria, and also select ascending or Descending condition.

hi pradeep ,

now its doing batch determination and giving batch number

but if i have to give soem values for the characteristics i maintain for the material , where and when i have to give

for assembly i have assigned class with two characteristics , they are being asked for values

when i am creating order for the assembly based on settings

for child part when i have to give if at all i assign a class with characteristics to it

is it done at batch determination only ? or some where else

how to see the characteristic values given for a batch for a material

thsi shall solve my issues

If the assembly is batch managed system will ask for the characteristic values while creating the order. Same way if the components are batch managed system will ask for the characteristic values when Goods receipt is done i.e. MIGO.

You can see all the details of the batch in MSC3N.

Hi,

Since u have maintained the batch classification, when u receive the Material from vendor u have to enter the Batch charecristics at MIGO.

U can view the Batch details at MSC3N, BMBC.

Hi pradeep,

for maintaining batch classification for semifinished or finished goods we maintain it in production scheduling profile ,here if we give calssification on foreground ,it will ask for the characteristic values which we give

if at all i select classification in background , how the classification will happen ?

further for maintaining clasiification for raw materials where i have to maintain settings ? in purchasing view only batch management activation check box is there

shall i do settings for batch classification for raw materials in SPRO --batch valuation --valuation for goods movements in inventory management -activate batch classification for goods movements in IMhere movement type wise batch classification

is this the only setting, why because here i have maintained fore ground classification for the raw material, for movement type 101 ,when i do GRn with MIGO it is not asking for characteristic values

any otehr settings i am missing

further if i select classification in back ground , how the system picks characteristic values of batches

What i have understood is ,Raw Material is Handled in batch with Classification.

Please letme Give some more Inputs

Have u Created the Batch characteristic and Class with Type 22 .

Have you maintained the Batch class and Char values at Classification View of Raw material.

1.for raw material batch determination ,the setting i have done is at SPRO-batch management -valuation-allow and activate batch determination for goods movement in inventory management -

here i have selected the movement type 101 and done GRN for the raw material --then while doing GRN through MIGO , in the tab batch , "classification " tab has appeared

with out the above setting it was not coming

2. for semifinished and finished products , the batch classification settings are done at customizing production scheduler profile which is assigned to material in work scheduling view

my major doubt is if i select the option batch clasification in background in both the cases how can the system take characteristic values , i am just exploring that and with our interactions we can fix it

could u give some in puts with required settings and action flow for working with PI Sheets

i have to change to PP-PI industry ,hence in need of ur support

Same Batch Determination is also possible during order creation or Order Change stage in the BOM of an order, try whether it is working over there or not.
