We have global rule set currently running in GRC 10.0 server. We plan to migrate our ECC 6 to S/4HANA 1709, which require GRC Access Control 10.1. Instead of upgrade the GRC, we plan to take the opportunity to do a new installation on GRC system to 10.1, and then upload rule set from 10.0, does this compatible ? Does it having any impact?

Hello,

surely you can upload the rule set from 10.0 into 10.1. The only difficulty comes with the new S4HANA. In order to avoid false negatives, you have to update your rule definitions to catch the new transactions and applications that are used by S4HANA. While it is somewhat "easy" to catch the new transactions and remove the obsolete ones, it's definitely harder to identify all the required oData services with the S_SERVICE object. SAP provides rule set definitions for S4HANA (and also HANA as a DB) as BC sets with 10.1 SP19.

Hope that helps.

Cheers, Alessandro
