Exchange rate prefix for direct/indirect quotation

Is it possible tp use both indirect and direct quotation for a currency pair.

I have tried to set a prefix to get direct quotation, but the system always use indirect quotation. I have also changed the standard quotation method, but nothing seems to help. Could anyone please help me.

If your question is with regards each combination of currencies, you set this up in transaction ONOT. This is stored in the table TCURN.

This TCURN table uses the From Currency, To Currency and Date as the Primary key. You can therefore have only one key in this table. Therefore, you cannot define a Direct and an Indirect quote at the same time.

That was the technical reasoning. Logically, if you define more than one quote per combination, how would the system determine which rate to pick up?

Ok I get the message. I thought that the prefix would tell the system which currency to use.

The reason for this question is that in China the currenc rate is set by the authorities, and that rate differs from our group currency rate.

You could setup your own Ex Rate Type to hold your group rates. Not an option?

Cheers.

this might be an option, but then we should have to use different document types for these companies, to get the correct currency rate type
