Fox Formula - Parent members

Hi,

How can I use a parent member such as "Total_SALES_ACCOUNT" in a fox formula. For example, I am calculating Tax $ on it given I have Tax %.

Can I use Total_SALES_ACCOUNT * TAX_PERCENT or do I need to loop using FOREACH?

Hi Nicky,

seems that you come from BPC Standard but FOX is BW-IP or BPC Embedded and there is no build-in CATE model exists; in other words 'parent members' are no master data values, i.e. the parent of the hierarchy node is usually not contained in the master data table of the hierarchy base characteristics: it may be a text node, a value of another characteristic or a postable node. In the latter case in records from DB you will only get the corresponding leaf and not the inner hierarchy node. In other words in FOX you have to aggregate the needed values to get the value on inner hierarchy nodes.

Regards,

Gregor
