True "Lot for Lot" sizing procedure

Hello Gurus.

I'm using Lot sizing procedure "EX" and "Individual category" to have MRP generate individual planned orders for my sales requirements.

However, I notice that when the sales requirements occur on the same day, MRP is grouping the proposals into only one per day. For example:

Sales Oder A: 8 pieces (May 20, 2008)

Sales Order B: 12 pieces (May 20, 2008)

MRP Result

Planned Order: 20 pieces (May 20, 2008)

According to SAP: "On Lot-for-Lot Order Quantity; planning is carried out on a daily basis. This means that the system groups requirements from the same day together in one order proposal instead of creating an order proposal for every requirement."

Is there a way to use a TRUE lot for lot sizing procedure? Even if my sales requirements are in the same day, I want to have individual planned orders, and not have them grouped into one lot per day.

Thank you.

hi

for that material in one of the MRP views, please set

Individual/coll. --> 1 (Individual requirements only)

& check, do you have still this issue.

if exists.. explain your scenario better about demands, other MRP parameters in Material Master..etc..

Thanks, JK

Hello,

it´s been a long time since you posted this.

Did you manage to solve the issue and have a "true" EX lot-for-lot for and MTS scenario?

I would appreciate feedback.

Hi,

Yes, as you rightly said, with the lotsizing procedure EX, the Requirements for the entire day are clubbed together and single procurement element will be created.

This is the Standard SAP Behavior.

For further details (for clarification) refer the OSS Notes: 140802 & 550568.

6. Question:

There are several requirements on one day. Is it possible that the MRP creates a separate procurement proposal for every requirement?

Answer:

Just as for the daily lot size with number of periods = 1 (lot size TB), requirements of one dayare also combined to one procurement proposal for the lot-for-lot order quantities (lot size EX) (see documentation for lot-for-lot order quantity). Separate procurement proposals can only be achieved if you work with make-to-order production. Here, the requirements are managed in separate planning segments of the stock/requirements list.

Hope this helps..

Hi,

pls try with the indicator Avail Check - 02 (Indiv reqmts ) in the MRP3 view and with lotsize EX.

Thanks for your replies friends.

Unfortunately, setting "Individual/coll." to 1 in MRP4 didn't affect the result. Also, using Availability Check 02 (Individual Requirements) wouldn't work either.

I also found that SAP Note eventually and I guess that's it, this is how it works and there's no way around it.

What SAP suggests is that I use a "Make to Order" strategy. I tried both this option and also the alternative of using "Assembly Orders" so that every time I had a sales requirement, a Production Order would be created automatically.

However, here's the reason why none of these options would work for my company. The problem we have is that, besides getting requirements from Sales Orders, we also get Stock Transport Orders. And with STO, none of these alternatives have any effect.

STO don't work with Assembly Orders nor with Make To Order strategies. I believe we will stop pursuing this goal of getting separate proposals for our sales requirements.

Thanks again for your help.
