Microsoft Outlook Integration with SAP Business ByDesign Error

Hello! Hope all is well.

I'm facing a weird issue, that when I researched it, it only popped up with the same exact situation, but from 3 years ago. After I took the necessary steps to integrate Outlook with SAP Business ByDesign, and downloaded the necessary plug-in, when I went to logon in Microsoft Outlook 2013, I get an error stating that "Groupware is not scoped in for Synchronization, the Synchronization is not possible. Please change the scoping for synchronization to work."

I double checked, the necessary synchronization scoping outlined is indeed in scope in our solution. However, we are still facing this error. Why is that?

My hunch is that SAP Business ByDesign doesn't support Microsoft Outlook 2013 and above. Is that truly the issue still? It wasn't integrated in 2015, but it's 2018 now, how come it hasn't been integrated yet?

Or is the problem not integration at all? Honestly, any feedback would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

    Hello Omar,

    1. Have you followed the steps below?
    2. In the Business Configuration work center, find your current Project and click Edit Project Scope.
    3. In the Scoping phase, expand Communication and Information Exchange, Office and Desktop Integration and select Microsoft Outlook Integration check box.
    4. In the Questions phase, expand General Business Data, Business Partners and select Handling of Business Partners option.
    5. Expand Account Maintenance group and select the following check boxes:
      1. Do you want to synchronize accounts and contacts in your solution to Microsoft Outlook?
      2. Do you want to synchronize accounts and contacts from Microsoft Outlook to the solution?
      3. Do you want to maintain direct responsibilities for contacts
    6. Click Next, Finish and then Close.

This message is raised by the add-in if any of the 3 options aren’t scoped:
    1)GroupwareContactManagement
    2)GroupwareAccountSynchronization
    3)GroupwareActivitySynchronization

If they are scoped, please try to descope and re-scope.

The Office 2013 is supported indeed.

Hope it helps. If you still face this issue you can open an incident or contact the SAP Cloud Support via Chat.

    Best regards,

    Henrique Freitas
