0EMPLOYEE master data too many time-dep. records

Dear all!

At a quite big organisation they load 0EMPLOYEE master data every month with time-selection on the first and last day of the relevant month.

That means, data volume is growing a lot, although there is mostly no change in the time-depentent attributes.

e.g.

employee datefrom dateto phone

12345678 20080301 20080331 003612346

12345678 20080401 20080430 003612346

12345678 20080501 20080531 003612346

The different time slices come into existence by the monthly load, however actually the record

12345678 20080301 20080531 003612346

provides the very same information and is the far more performant data modell.

Does anyone know any transaction or any way to compress the /BI0/QEMPLOYEE-table to reduce data volume and assemble same records to one or few time-slices? I have heard of an ABAP-statement PROVIDE, but I am not sure, how to use it in this context.

Thanks a lot

Frank
