Mechanics on Owner and Reviewer on BPF

Hi,

We are having an "issue" due to owners and reviewers on BPF on BPC NW 10.1.

We are assigning reviewers and owners manually at the moment of launching the instance, expecting that the reviewer cannot access the activities of the owner, but yes they can.

We write to SAP asking if is this a normal behavior, and they tell us that yes the reviewers can access to the activities but they cannot submit...

Every user has to have access to all data, but in a appropriate order. We need to know if this normal or not... because if this is normal, we don't understand the function for Owners and reviewers on BPF beyond submitting or approving.

PD: We have well-defined teams, data access profiles, task profiles, driver dimension, etc... Reviewed by SAP.

Hi J,

I am assuming you are using 10.1 Classic version since you have Owner property! In Classic version we can assign different activities to owner i.e Performer and Reviewer! In the activity creation you have 2 options "same as performer" and "Specific Work space" for Reviewer! Also see in this link...SAP has mentioned it in HELP. http://help.sap.com/saphelp_bopacnw101/helpdata/en/3b/ce9d88197d4f58bc2d9d4d1e8bf740/content.htm?fra...

You can specify that the reviewer uses the same workspace or that a reviewer has a specific workspace, which you can define in the same way.

I am in a confused state as to why SAP has given such reply. Maybe they could be right....since I dont have full idea of your scenario! But strange!

JP

Hi JP,

Thanks for the reply. Yes, we are under 10.1 classic. All the activities are Specific Work Space for reviewers. We assign manually the Users, performer and Reviewer when launching the instance, not by the Owner/reviewer property of driver dimension. The issue is that the reviewer can access to the hiperlinks of the perfomer before submitting to the reviewer...any idea about this?

Best regards.

Hi,

Can you provide screenshots for this for better understanding?

We assign manually the Users, performer and Reviewer when launching the instance, not by the Owner/reviewer property of driver dimension.

Hi J,

Instead of comment making it as an answer!

I have BPC 10 system and just tested your scenario in it....BPC 10 and 10.1 Standard are I guess pretty much the same! In 10 I was able to see the overview of instance and the steps as a reviewer...but if I click on the steps.....it gives a pop up to complete the step and then Submit, but actually doesnt navigate it to the step activity! In your case too...I think if you click on activity it will not migrate to the step activity?? Or if it does....then maybe SAP forgot this small point to be included...since they gave the explanation about it! But I also think that the activity should not be opened! steps are visible that is fine.....but it should not be accessible!

This is how we're defining the users on instance (User "PRUBA" is the reviewer):

And this behaviour is what we not expected, that user PRUEBAS could access to the Performer working area (not submitting, but having access to the activities):

Thanks.

Our way to assign users to instances (Manual assignment):

The other way is by "Assignment by definition of Owner and Reviewer Property of the driver dimension":

Thanks in advance.
