Hello,
we have many products in free-pass: a lot is created and ud is taken with an internal procedure.
What we want to do is, once we recognize defects at a later stage, to change the UD and check the material for the next two GRs (we have inspection plan and DRM active).
The issue I'm experiencing is: when we change the UD for an already closed lot, no changes are made in qdh1 table and the product remains in free pass.
Any hints?

That is correct behavior.
SAP has no idea how to handle the DMR in such a situation. For instance, you have processed lots A, B, C, D, E, F and G. UD's are made automatically and posted. Now you fail lot C. Theoretically you should now be checking D and E. But D & E are already out there and processed.. So now you are going to test lots H and I? But D, E, F and G are ok. Why would you test H and I now? (That's a rhetorical question). Statistically speaking, lots H & I probably no longer have any relevance back to C.
Depending on when you discover the errors and change the code, what the corrective should be will be different depending on how much material has already been produced and released. It's not something that can, or should, really be programmed. It really requires human intervention at that point. IMHO

That would have been one of my suggestions. 🙂 It just can be difficult to program something like that in many businesses. A lot depends on the business and the number, and type of products being made.
