Using Crystal 2013 with Epson FX-890 dot matrix printer

The issue is that the fonts do not honor what we are used doing in Crystal nor what we see in print preview. We have tried using the printer drivers with their fonts in the report itself and it does not print correctly, everything is on top of each other. If we add extra spacing in the groups to line everything up then the page size is not recognized correctly. We are willing to buy another dot matrix printer if we know that this problem is this specific printer but how do we know up front.
