Reg: Archive files

Hi all,

Recently our database is growing improperly....in an every minute one archive file is generating. in this case we have the DR server in other location. It is the replica of PRD. It is taking the backup of archive files of PRD. PRD is generating one file for every minute, DR is taking one file for every 7minutes. Presently we have 1500 archive files to be backed up to DR. Is there any way to move those 1500 files to our DR?

Thnx Anil,

But in this case i have more than 1300 archive files to be backed up in DR. right now those files in Production arch directory. Our production archive directory space is becoming full. But i cant delete old archive files in Production these because those are not backed up yet to DR. Please suggest.

Hi Hareesh,

Please take offline backup from PRD server and restore in DR sever.

Hi Harish,

They are no need to keep old archive file in the DR Server. You can keep only current file like past one week only. Semilarly when you take backup then old archive file will be erase.

In case you have any other query pls mentioned here.
