Remote Role Assignment on SP15 NetWeaver2004s Not Working

Hi,

We recently upgraded both our Producer and Consumer portals from SP11 to SP15. We upgraded our development and QA environment and encountered no issues. FPN was working and RRA was fine. However, when we attempt to upgrade our Production environment, to our HORROR, FPN FAILED. RRA was no longer working. Our Consumer portal could no longer retrieve remote content from Producer. We then had to remove the existing Producer and tried to re-add the Producer. However, with the newly registered Producer, we still could not get RRA to work. What puzzles us is

1. SSO is working fine. On the Consumer portal, we were able to key in the Producer URL and go to the Producer portal without being asked to logon

2. Producer registration was successful and connection test returned successfully

Why would we still unable to get RRA to work? There were no changes in Permissions and remote content related permissions were not changed. Why would RRA work in SP11 but not anymore on SP15? Furthermore, why would it fail on Production but not on QA and Dev?

We tried to replicate the problem on Dev by adding a new Producer to the Dev Producer Portal. To our surprise, RRA for the newly added Producer FAILED but RRA for the existing Producer (which was carried over from SP11) was working!

We have logged a case with SAP Support and set the priority to "Very High". Unfortunately, except for the initial flurry of communication, the case was escalated and we have received scarce communication for the past 9 hours. The last reply from support requested us to check our SSO configuration and resolve certification key inconsistencies and SSO inconsistencies. We followed the advice and resolve the outstanding inconsistencies. In addition, we made sure to add the Producer to the Consumer as a trusted system and vice versa. To this end, RRA for the new producers is still not working.

One thing we noticed with SP15 is the Producer registration process REQUIRES you to add in P4 related details (such as host and port). This was never the case in SP11. Although it is stated that P4 is only used for RDL (remote delta link), I cannot help to think if incorrect P4 settings is playing the devil here...

Any suggestions/recommendations/advice would be greatly appreciated.
