Group Asset

Hello All,

My client wants to implement group depreciation as it is one of the requirements for their statutory reporting in the industry that they belong to. Assets should be depreciated using the group method.

There is a functionality in SAP in setting up group assets which could be the solution for this requirement. But there are questions in my mind that I wish some of you could help me with --

1. Depreciation posting happens at the group level, does that mean that the depreciation expense will be posted only to the cost center assigned to the master data of the group asset?

2. What if the member assets of that group asset has different cost centers? Will they have depreciation posting as well?

3. Will the individual assets adopt the account allocation assigned to the group asset master record?

4. What if there is a difference between the depreciation key assigned to the depreciation area of the group asset and the individual asset? Which will take over during the depreciatio run?

5. Will the settings in the asset class of the group master record take over the values assigned to the asset class of the member individual assets?

Need your help guys. Thank you very much.

Regards,

Eric
