Any status update on CR 811073 ( hash() on varbinary columns can use up procedure cache)

We have a bunch of large varbinary columns in use at our site. I've been using rs_subcmp to check replicate db copies (because of sporadic repserver crashes with large varbinary data (with no stacktrace data: CR 811377) ).

But if I use the "-h" option with rs_subcmp, it calls the hash() function in ASE for the varbinary columns, and ends up filling up the procedure cache (causing ASE stability problems).

CR 811073 was created for this. I don't see it in the Knowledge Base yet. Any status update on it?

Thanks in advance

Hi Ben,

CR 811073 is fairly new and has not been fixed yet. Unfortunately, the only workaround I can think of is to increase the proc cache further.

Hope this helps
