Using logon group for type H connections between XI and R3

Hi

We have a ABAP server proxy type connection between XI and R3 box - and we create an RFC destination - of type H on the XI box - to point to R3 . I noticed that there is no message server information that can be provided while defining RFC destination of this type. Is this a limitation on the proxy connection between XI and R3 . The option of pointing to a message server - for load balancing seems to be available in the idoc solution - between XI and R3 .

We are on XI 3.0 SP 18 and ECC 5.0. Please advise if anyone else out there have experienced this limitation or am I missing something here ?

Type H : http connection: to connect to the target system using http transport protocol. example to send xml message to target sap web server.

when we send messages using proxy from SAP system to the integration engine of XI, we need type H.

As for the external server, you can (de)activate SSL and specify an authorization.

Since the target system is an SAP system, as well as the user and password, you can also define the client and language which are to be used for logging on to the SAP system. If the checkbox Current User is activated, you still have to enter the relevant password.

Hi Gabriel

I believe you did not understand my specific question regarding the type 'H' connection from XI --> R3 box - I want to know where there is a option to specify the message server when we pass a message from XI to R3 - specifying the message server enables us to use the logon group /load balancing feature in R3 . Hope I am clear with my question now
