UWL notifications - subject restriction of 50 characters from ERP System

Hello Experts,

Can you assist to confirm that there is a 50 character limit on notifications sent to the UWL from ERP systems?

If this limit is indeed intended, can anyone suggest any work arounds to increase?

We have attempted to use both ABAP notifications function modules or a Send Mail step in BPM to send a notification to an end user and no matter what we do the subject line always gets truncated to 50 characters. This ocurrs both in "SAP inbox" and in the portal UWL.

Before you send me to other posts in this forum, please note I have read other forum posts on this site and they recommend SAP Notes 559234, 363986, 375669 and 416013. We have implemented all of these notes but none of them allow the SUBJECT to be over 50 characters. They DO allow URL's to be included in the description/body text and extend the line length to 120 characters but do not address the subject problem length problem.

Any recommendations or even confirmations of this as an on-going issue will be rewarded.

Thanks,

Eneko

Apologies, I have also read SAP note 975947 and it does not help. The correction instructions in it are already implemented on our system.

We still cannot send notifications longer than 50 characters subject length. Tasks, yes, but notifications, no.

I'm assuming that this 50 characters cannot be worked around.

Any further suggestions?
