Dear all
where can we use transaction code MDBT
How to run mrp for a plant ( spares) for which CBP is set
Reorder point is fixed
Please give differences between manufacturing plant planning run ( MRP type is PD) and spares plant( MRP type is VB)
Hi,
You can not execute planning run specifically for Materials with VB.
But, If you run MRP for higher level materials (MD01/MDBT or MD02) being the lower level Materials they will be included in the Planning Run.
How the system will know that the Stock is blow the Reoprder Level?
Unlike the Materials with PD, for the VB Materials, when the Sock is below the Reorder Level then the Planning File entry will be set for these Materials.
So, afterwards when ever there is a planning run, system will consider these Materials in the Planning Run.
Appropriate Procurement Proposals will be generated for these Materials.
Hope this clarifies..
Regards,
Siva

Hi,
1.where can we use transaction code MDBT?
MDBT is for running MRP in the background
2.How to run mrp for a plant ( spares) for which CBP is set?
MD01 is the safe bet
3.Please give differences between manufacturing plant planning run ( MRP type is PD) and spares plant( MRP type is VB)
In case of first plan you can run for a particular finished product in MD02
Where as for VB you cannot run for a specific material as the system need to check all the raw material for which you have Set MRP as VB & moreover its not based on any particular requirement & as it is based on the stock level & re order point
Hope the above is useful
