Lost loads in BCS Cube.

Hi everybody,

We heave the following issue:

A backup restore of BWP had to be done some days ago. The Delta Load of a BCS cube was not taken into account, and some loads (between the time ofthe backup and when it was restored) were lost, with the sub-sequent missing data in BW. We have very little knowledge of how BCS works. Our model is the following: a R/3 Data Source 3FI_SL_ZECMGLOBALT_TT that gets data from the ZECMCGLOBALT table, and feeds the ZBCC0001 basic cube in

BW. We then have the ZBCS_C11 Transactional cube, that has data only from APO loads. As we understand it, BCS takes data from ZBCC0001, makes someconsolidation transformations and feeds ZBCS_C11 cube. Then we have a ZBCS_VC11 Virtual cube that reads the data in ZBCS_C11, and also a Basiccube and Multicube for a Multicube reporting scenario in BCS.

To solve the missing data we are tracing those records, and uploading them manually via flat file directly in BCS.

The other solution we considered is to delete and do a new Delta

Initialization of ZBCC0001 Cube. Although we are confident we would have all data correctly loaded again we are not sure how this will impact the data flow after this cube. For example if the BCS program will recognize which records were already processed and taken into ZBCS_C11 and whichones not.

We want to know the best solution for this situation. We feel it would be cleaner to delete and re initialize, but we don't want to risk all the data that was correctly loaded since the initialization a year ago. We need to have another way to solve this issue and similar ones that may arise.

Thanks in advance.

Manuel
