In BCS how can the log of the data collection task be sent to email account?

Hi,

we are automating the data load from ERP and the execution of the UCMON tasks so that the data is available every morning for the Finance teams. One requirement is to receive the contents of the data collection log by email to a specified email mailbox in case of a data collection error.

Does anybody know if this is possible at all and if yes, how this can be achieved?

I have found the answer myself. We solves the problem by utilising the email functionality of our job scheduling programme Automic. We created a scenario whereby the data collection log is checked for certain words that occur during a data collection error. If those words are found an email is generated detailing the error message and this email is then sent to a specified mailbox.
