Dear Experts,
Currently, we're performing homogenous system copy with option Database Refresh using SWPM (Software Provisioning Manager).
In SWPM execution phase Create ICM userstore, we're struck with error saplikey: failed to connect to the database. By mistake, SAPSCHEMA user was changed in HANA database. Anyway we reset it back using hdbuserstore commands. We still get the same error result.
In sapinst.log, we found the following error:
WARNING 2016-10-19 16:08:17.782 (root/sapinst) id=modlib.jslib.childAppReturn
Execution of the command "/usr/sap/SID/SYS/exe/uc/linuxx86_64/saplikey pf=/usr/sap/SID/SYS/profile/SID_DVEBMGSXX_server -install_first_temp XXXXXX" finished with return code 2. Output:
saplikey: failed to connect to the database.
Any ideas, please?
Thanks & best regards,
Sreenu
I know this is an old thread, but it may help to others having the same error. We found this document helpful in the community blogs:

Basically the same as SAP Note 2250144 - FAQ: SAP HANA Secure User Store
