Request to open QA for System changes.

Hi,

Need Expert advice

Consultants busy with a HR implementation.

They are requesting that I open QA for system change.

The reason is that there is no productive org. structure in DEV, and therefore positions cannot be assigned to workflow rules in dev. Hence they need to make the changes directly into QA and eventualy prod.

(Please keep in mind that I am the SAP Basis/Admin and my knowledge of functional HR is limited.)

Any advice?

Hello:

From HR point of view, you (as a team) can do one of the next options:

Create Org. Structure in DEV and then transport to QA and PROD

Transport already made QA Org. structure to DEV

Open certain activities in IMG (SPRO), this means, you won't have to open QA for changes, but instead, open certain activities (transactions) directly in IMG. For this, read SAP note 135028.

Open QA from transaction SCC4 (no recommended)

Thanks for the speedy advice.

Just for clarity:

The request was to change responsibilities of a role - transaction PFAC.

Going with your recommendation of finding the activity in the IMG, we found this note, 534029. The note give the solution, tx OOCU_RESP, which can be used edit the responsibilities of a role without having to got through the maintenance rule(i.e having the system opened to change)
