Hi Everyone,
I have a situation here in SAP BOBJ Production Environment. We have 4 BOBJ Application Severs in Production and it is on Sybase Database.
We are facing the Performance issue i.e slowness in the following:
1. Adaptive Processing Server is taking too much time to start. It is in Initializing state itself for around 5 minutes. Where as in other environments, i observed that it started in seconds.
2. While checking for Monitoring tab or OLAP Connection creation/edit, accessing reports from BI Launch pad is taking too time for the 1st time after login .After 1st time, we are not facing this issue until log-off. Again after login, the issue is the same.
Seems, it is an issue related to APS-Apadtive Processing sever. Facing the same issue across all the 4 application servers on Production Environment. Not sure on why this is happening.
Can someone please help on this...
Thanks in Advance.
Regards,
Kumar.
Hi Kumar,
It's difficult to give specific advice for your case, because it will depend on landscape and configuration, and we would need more details and traces from operations performing slowly.
Usually Adaptive Processing Server start duration is related to number of services it hosts, so you should have separate APS instances for each type of service/product you use. An APS should stay up and running as long as possible to keep best response time possible, so I wouldn't worry too much about start time.
About performance when checking different pages of Central Management Console, you will have to check if there is some CPU or memory bottleneck in your system when these operations take longer than expected. You could also check with SAP BI Platform Support Tool if there is any alert or configuration change recommanded for your landscape.
I think best option if you can't resolve this on your own, will be to open a ticket with Support and give them all information required, like end-to-end traces for scenario and BIP Support Tool Landscape Analysis Report. They can check what options you have to size and customize system properly to get best performance and reliability possible.
Best regards,
Loic

Check this SAP KBA and configure your environment's APS accordingly.

One thing that happens fairly frequently is that there's antivirus or similar software slowing it down.
Try disabling it, and see if it speeds up.
If you need more specific rules, see this KBA - Which files and directories should be excluded from an antivirus scan for SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence Platform products in Windows?
