Calculate dates in BEx

Hi:

For Inventory report on 0IC_C03, When user enters a Key date on selection, I want to calculate Month begining & Ending date for the date entered in key Date variable. I want to use begining date & Ending date to calculate Opening Inv Balance and closing INV balance, How Can I do this.
