how to intialize delta for another ODS with same infosource

Hi Experts,

We have one ODS having update routines , daily DELTA loads are ruuning in production system.Now we got one requirement like need to develope another ODS with different update routines on the same infosource. is it possible ? if we do means is there any effect for 1st ODS ? please suugest me how to do that ..its in production system ...little bit urgent..
