Characters font too small in SAP PO 7.5 ESR / ESB for 1920x1080 screen

Hi all,

anyone who is using new screens with full HD had this problem that the character font is too small in ESR ESB? (windows 7)
Changing windows font size is not affecting ESB/ESR font size so doesn't fix it this way.. and when changing the resolution to x900 or x720, then yes,it is increasing font in ESR/ESB but also the window and margins so everything is too big in the 14" screen to be able to work properly, so this is not the solution either.

I think this should be a setting from the own SAP PO, not from windows. Is there any option to increase the font from PO?

Attached some screenshots with the small size (and sap logon behind with normal size).

Thanks in advance,

    Hi,

The ESR / ESB runs on javaws, so if you find javaws your ESR is running on (for me its in location C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.8.0_151\bin),

    1. Right click and select Properties for javaws application.

    2. Go to Compatibility tab

    3. Check Override high DPI scaling behaviour.

    4. Choose System for Scaling performed by:

Then run the ESR / ESB again. Hope this helps.

Thanks, I might be that the solution, but in my case the group of checkboxes at javaws.exe/Properties/Compatibility tab/Configuration are in grey colour and doesn't allow me to modify it.

No solution for my W7 and Java8, but only a temporary one which was decreasing screen resolution to 1600x900 which make everything bigger on the screen, so it's not the best neither. I still haven't tried java 9. Could be that in the new version the issue is solved...

    Try the following

    • Step1: – Open ESR or ID in Swing client.
    • Step2:- Once opened, hover the mouse on the ESR/ ID and do a right click. It will open a small window like below –

    • Step 3 :- Hover your mouse on the Java(TM) Web Launcher and do a right click again. Like the below picture –
    • Step 4:- Now left click on the Properties this will open the settings of jp2launcher.exe as the below mentioned picture- check the below options are enabled – Override the high DPI scaling behavior

This will set the Font size to normal. Close ESR and ID re-open to check.

We can also change this settings directly in windows system by locating the jp2launcher.exe file.

Usually it resides in C:\Program Files\Java\<jre1.8.0_171 or your Java version>\bin

    Pr-requisite:

You must have windows admin authorization to change the properties.
