Reports on Crystal

All,

This might be a basic question but I am a bit confused reading all the posts.

1. We have crystal reports enterprise edition. So now if I want to use Crystal reports for reporting is it necessary to create a query first using BEx tools and then access this query thru crystal or can I directly access the Infocube/ DSO using Crystal and create my query and report there.
