Hello all,
I will be thankful if somebody will tell me if Business Object is replacement to BI or its just an advancement/complementry to BI?
Sandeep,
do you really expect a clear Y/N answer?
hee hee hee....
personally, I think given BO is a world leading BI frontend and its superior to existing SAP-BI frontend, I mean to me personally only, its clear that one of them will eventually be the sole survivor as maintaining 2 similar products is a huge cost to business Profit or Loss when done in parallel.
so what do you suspect?

Hi Sandeep,
The solutions from both Business Objects and SAP NetWeaver are complementary but we are working on streamlining the solutions to reduce the number of tools and obviously to reduce any overlap so customers have a simpler time in selecting the right tools for the right user needs. It is always a difficult process to do this but we feel this way we are able to focus on rapidly developing and delivering the next generation of innovations. The areas of overlap are mainly in the BI Frontend tools and we have published a roadmap on this and how we plan to develop and consolidate the frontend tools going forward. The plans for the EDW layers,BIA and the rest of SAP NetWeaver are very much unchanged.
The going forward roadmap for the BI frontend tools can be found at https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/10c3bca6-7dbc-2a10-7aa8-81d2731c... in the Business Objects section of SDN.
Cheers,
Mike.

The Business Objects products are definitely complementary to NetWeaver BI. Both for the loading of data (load non-SAP data into SAP BI) and the reporting side, the Business Objects tools will bring additional benefits to SAP BI customers.
You can have a look at this document [Extending The Value of SAP NetWeaver BI with Business Objects Business Intelligence Platform|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/10c3bca6-7dbc-2a10-7aa8-81d2731c7bb1] on SDN for more details.
But at the same time we're still open and the Business Objects products can also be used in non-SAP environments.
