Mitigating control custom notification variable GRC 10

Hello GRC experts,

I just configured the Mitigating control in GRC 10 with custom notification using SE61 that send out to owner/approver that goes out to outlook inbox in Exchange server, however my link is not working because I used different variable that doesn’t exist at the bottom of stage 4.I’m not sure what variable I should use so my notification have proper link so mitigation approver can double click thee link to approve mitigating control. I used %LINK_WORKITEM%.

We have FF running and it is configured to send an email to the approver/owner to approve through link. I'm not sure what variable should use to get the link on my custom notification that I created in SE61 configured in Stage 4 and 5.

Can anyone please send me the steps to configure this custom notification with link? if this is really simple to do.

Thanks in advance.

Best Regards,

Faisal

Hi Faisal,

Even if you add the variable LINK_APPROVE_REJECT in the view V_GRFNNOTIFVARBL using SM31 it does not work for Mitigation Control Maintenance WF . I have tried this in my system.

As suggested you can use the URL of the GRC system in the link.

Hi Faisal,

The variable LINK_APPROVE_REJECT does not work for Mitigation Control Assignment/Maintenance.

This variable works with Access Request Approval , Role Approval and UAR WF's.

As a workaround you can use the URL of the GRC system in your hyperlink.

Hi Manju,

Thanks for the reply I don't know what I'm doing wrong but I tried everything and nothing is working, Do you think, is there any other setting I need to modify ? because I have my FF logs going to approver using %LINK_WORKITEM% and I tried and this setting but I can't insert the LINK_WORKITEM into the variable list at the bottom of stage 4 and asking for custom variables.. I'm surprise that they didn't have same URL functionality that I'm using for FF logs.

GRC URL means they will have to login and go their GRC inbox and approve MC. That's what you meant right. It also mean that same URL just going to every approval but there has to be some way to do this using this some kind of variable. I hope someone can give me the clue to at least the right direction so I can start to make this work..

Hello,

Please use the variable %LINK_APPROVE_REJECT%

Example:

Click <a href="%LINK_APPROVE_REJECT%">here</a> to reject/approve.

Hello Baithi,

It is not working I tried without HTML format and no luck. It is showing exact same text that I stated on the variable with percentage sign when I use without html. I think this %LINK_APPROVE_REJECT% variable is not available at the bottom of the Stage 4 so I'm not sure if it would work. I read somewhere that only variables available at the bottom of stage 4 will work because they are available for this process. or there is way to bring these variable to bottom of stage 4 and then use them, I don't know?

Are you using this mitigating control link through email if you do what variable are you using. Any other idea?. Please let me know if there is any other way to work this link for mitigating control.

Hello GRC experts,

Is there anybody who can help with this Mitigating control variable setup to send an email to approval. I have my custom notification working but the issue is I can't get link to work. I just want to know what variable I should use to get the link working.

Thanks so much

Hello Baithi;

Thank you so mush for above link but I know about the links. The issue I have is the link is appearing on the customizing notification it comes over as shown below

But when I click the link it doesn't go anywhere. I'm not sure what variable I should use because I used these two variables and both doesn't work

%LINK_WORKITEM%>

% APPROVED_BY%>

Faisal
