Hi Deborah,
the button to register doesn't give the person who registers any access to on your SAP Jam tenant. It's just used to register with the SAP ID service.
Here's some background on this:
At this point all external users of SAP Jam are managed in the SAP ID service, so that a user who has been invited as an external user to multiple SAP Jam instances only needs to remember one username and password for all these tenants. It's the same username and password that you are using to log on to sap.com or the SAP Community.
So in case you invite an external person to your SAP Jam tenant he will need a user on the SAP ID service. If he doesn't have one yet, he will need to register there. Only registering on the SAP ID service without being invited to any of your external groups doesn't give him access to anything in your tenant. In fact, he can't even enter your tenant.
Hope this clarifies it.
Best, Christian
