WM Putaway strategy: mixed storage and addition to existing stock

Hi,

I have a business requirement that in one storage bin we could store different material codes and/or the same material with same batch, however it is required to avoid the same material code with the same batch in a storage bin. Can anyone help me on how to set this up in WM through standard putaway strategies?

There is no way through standard putaway strategies to meet this requirement.

Strategy I does not allow to be used together with mixed storage (see point 5 of the prerequisites: https://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp60_sp/helpdata/en/ac/90c95360267214e10000000a174cb4/frameset.htm )

Next empty bin strategy does not allow to put additional material into an occupied bin at all.

And all others in general merge quants if they have the same characteristics, if you want restrict that then you need an exit with your own checks.

What is actually the business reason to avoid storing items with exact the same characteristics together in one bin?
